Burrell Elected President of USTFCCCA

Houston Head Coach tabbed for three-year term
HOUSTON – University of Houston Head Track & Field Coach Leroy Burrell will be adding another title to his name after being elected the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) President.

Entering his 22nd year at the helm of the Houston Track & Field program, Burrell will serve as the newly-elected President of the USTFCCCA for the next three years, beginning in 2020. Burrell previously served on the NCAA Division I Track & Field Executive committee and was most recently the American Athletic Conference representative.

I am looking forward to working with USTFCCCA National Office and my fellow colleagues in the coaching profession to enhance the stature and viability of our sports on our campuses, community and beyond."

The Houston head coach will serve alongside Kari Kluckhohn of North Central (Ill.) who was elected Secretary and Clyde Morgan of Wabash who will serve as Treasurer. The trio was recommended by the Nominations and Election Committee.
"I am honored to have been elected President of the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Association by the national body of coaches from all governing bodies," says Burrell. "I have participated in the growth and development of the Association from its founding 15 years ago to its current form. I am excited to lead the effort to not only grow the sports of cross country and track & field, but also to ensure the growth and development of the coaching profession.Â
