Cougars drop first round against Knights
ORLANDO, Fla. - Houston wrapped its historic season Sunday afternoon at the UCF Track and Soccer Complex, when it fell to the Knights in a 5-0 decision.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- UCF struck first to gain a lead and get on the board, inside the second minute.
- The Knights extended their lead before heading into the second stanza, scoring inside the 21st minute.
- Houston had its share of chances, tallying four shots heading into the second half.
- UCF started off the second frame with a pair of goals, inside the 48th and 56th minute.
- The Knights scored their final goal inside the 66th minute, tallying a 5-0 decision.
- Jazmin Grant led the team with five shots, followed by Desiree Bowen and Lauren Flowers collecting two shots on the day.
- Samantha Cude played every minute in-goal for the Cougars, posting seven saves,
- Houston tallied 13 shots and five corner kicks on the day.
OTHER NOTABLES
- The 2019-20 season marks the first American Athletic Conference tournament qualifying appearance in program history.
- Houston finishes at 6-14-0 on the season.
- Houston finishes at 3-9-0 on the road this season.
