HOUSTON -- If you a see a member of the Houston Athletics coaching staff, there's a good chance they are navigating the Houston freeways in a courtesy vehicle provided by the Houston Wheels Club.
An extension of Cougar Pride, the Houston Wheels Club courtesy vehicle program plays an integral role in supporting UH Athletics in the areas of recruiting, scouting, public relations and fundraising.
It also allows auto dealers and donors the opportunity to directly impact the success of Houston Athletics by providing coaches and administrators with vehicles to visit prospective student-athletes, and supporters every year.
While many of these partners have been long-time fixtures in Houston, the Chastang Family has played an integral role and served as one of the key contributors behind the program's success.
For generations, Houston has been home to the Chastang Family. Involved in the truck business beginning in 1933, the family-owned dealership has been a staple in the Houston community since its opening.
Led by Joe and Patrick Chastang, both UH alums and avid supporters of Houston Athletics for more than a decade, the dealership continues to be a key partner in the Houston Athletics Wheels program.
The Chastang's have also been an integral part of Houston Athletics growth over the years; supporting various projects and initiatives that assisted in its monumental growth and success. Serving as key contributors to TDECU Stadium and the Fertitta Center, as well as various initiatives that have enhanced the student-athlete experience at UH.
During his time at as a student at UH, Patrick notes that he was inspired by his hard-working class mates and professors that worked all day and taught at night. Those same values are demonstrated in Chastang Ford's commitment to its hard-working customers it serves daily as well as the greater Houston community.
By supporting the University of Houston and UH Athletics, the Chastang's play a key role in creating opportunities for future generations of Houstonians and that is part of the vision of Chastang Ford.
