Houston Gears Up for ITA Regional Championships

Cougars send six to compete on the weekend
HOUSTON - Houston Tennis extends its 2019 fall season when it sends six across the state to College Station, Texas to compete in the ITA Regional Championships, hosted by Texas A&M, across Oct. 17-21.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
- 18 other programs will compete at the ITA Regional Championships including Abilene Christian, Baylor, Incarnate Word, Lamar, North Texas, Rice, Sam Houston, Stephen F. Austin, SMU, TCU, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas A&M RGV, Texas A&M Corpus Christi, Texas State, Texas Tech, UTA and UTSA.
- The Cougars will send six to compete on the weekend, including doubles pair No. 16 Phonexay Chitdara/Sophie Gerits.
- Doubles play will commence at 8:30 a.m., followed by singles play beginning at 9:30 a.m.
- On the doubles court, pairs Stephanie Belovukovic/Mimi Kendall-Woseley, Azul Pedemonti/Ndindi Ndunda and Chitdara/Gerits will compete for Houston.
- Singles play will kick off following doubles, including No. 26 Belovukovic and No. 27 Pedemonti.
