Montgomery Named to The Bowerman Watch List

2018 United States Champion enters senior season among nation’s best
HOUSTON – Houston Cougar Track & Field senior sprinter Kahmari Montgomery has been named to the 2019 Men's Preseason Watch List for The Bowerman, the USTFCCCA announced Tuesday.

In 2017-18, Montgomery earned four NCAA All-American honors during his junior season with two in both the indoor and outdoor circuits. Montgomery earned First-Team All-America Honors in the indoor 400-meter dash as well as the outdoor 400 and 4x400-meter Relay, while garnering Second-Team honors in the indoor 4x4.

Montgomery's incredible junior season would continue onto the national circuit, where he claimed the United States Championship in the 400-meter dash. At the USATF Outdoor Championships in Des Moines, Iowa, Montgomery broke his own school record when he raced one lap around the track in 44.58.

Along with his outdoor 400-meter record, Montgomery was also a member of the 4x400-meter Relay team that set the outdoor school record in 3:04.18, while setting the indoor 400-meter dash record at 45.24.

The 2019 Men's Preseason Watch List consists of Montgomery, Denzel Comenentia (GeoÂrgia), Mondo Duplantis (LSU), Andre Ewers (Florida State), Grant Fisher (Stanford), Grant Holloway (Florida), Morgan McDonald (Wisconsin), Chris Nilsen (South Dakota), Divine Oduduru (Texas Tech) and Anderson Peters (Mississippi State).
