After falling 3-2 and 6-4 (12 innings) on Saturday, the Cougars closed out the series with a 6-3 win on Senior Day … In the series finale, junior Ryan Randel picked up the win in relief … Randel tossed 5.2 shutout innings before handing the ball over to senior Joey Pulido, who converted his third save of the season … Tyler Bielamowicz led the Cougars at the plate going 3-for-4 with an RBI and run scored, while Cooper Coldiron finished 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run scored … Prior to first pitch on Sunday, seniors Coldiron, Connor Hollis, Kyle Ott and Pulido were recognized on field.

Four members of the Houston Football programsigned free agent contracts with NFL organizations. Quarterback Kyle Allen signed with the Carolina Panthers, and linebacker D'Juan Hines signed with the Los Angeles Chargers, while the San Francisco 49ers signed both receiver Steven Dunbar and defensive back Terrell Williams.

Houston Men's Golf senior Michael Perras was selected to compete as an individual at the NCAA Bryan Regional.

Perras, who stands at No. 45 in the latest Golfstat individual national rankings, was one of six individuals and 13 teams chosen to play at Traditions Club beginning May 14 … Perras and sophomore Zach Tracy were named to the All-American Athletic Conference Team Thursday … Perras was named to the postseason squad for the third-consecutive season, while Tracy earned the first postseason accolade of his career.

The No. 25 Houston Women's Golf Team is competing as the No. 7 seed at the NCAA Austin Regional, May 7-9.

The Cougars earned a trip to NCAA Regional play for the fourth consecutive season after winning the American Athletic Conference Championships for the second time in the last three years on April 15-17 at Hammock Beach Resort & Golf Club … Houston is one of only 28 teams to compete in each of the last four NCAA Regionals … The Cougars face No. 1 seed Arkansas, No. 2 seed Texas, No. 3 seed Michigan State, No. 4 seed Florida, No. 5 seed Auburn, No. 6 seed Oklahoma, No. 8 seed Miami (Fla.), No. 9 seed Baylor, No. 10 seed Texas A&M, No. 11 seed BYU, No. 12 seed ECU, No, 13 seed Texas Tech, No. 14 seed Virginia Tech, No. 15 seed UTSA, No. 16 seed Georgetown, No. 17 seed Houston Baptist and No. 18 seed Missouri State on the 6,341-yard, par-72 layout at UT Golf Club … For live scoring, click here.

Houston defeated Memphis, 4-1, 7-4 and 8-0 (five innings) during "Senior Weekend" at Cougar Softball Stadium … Prior to each game, one of Houston's three seniors was recognized in a special ceremony on field with De'Zha Scott honored Friday, Mariah Garcia on Saturday and Kaylin Crumpton on Sunday … On Friday, sophomore third baseman Sarah Queen went 2-for-3 with two solo home runs, the multi-home run performance was Queen's second of the season, as she also accomplished the feat against Northwestern on March 10 as part of the Houston Hilton Plaza Classic … On Saturday, nine Cougars recorded hits and junior Presley Bell picked up the win in 5.2 innings of relief … On Sunday, Tierrah Williams hit a grand slam in the bottom of the first inning to help propel Houston to a five-inning, run-rule win … Junior Savannah Heebner tossed a one-hitter, carrying a no-hit bid into the fifth inning to improve to 24-8 and record her 12th shutout of the season, tying Angel Shamblin (2007) for the second-most all-time at Houston in a single season … Overall, the victory is the 48th of Heebner's career, tying her with Bailey Watts (2010-13) for second all-time in program history … For their efforts, Williams was named The American Player of the Week and Heebner was tabbed to the Honor Roll … The Cougars enter The American Championship as the No. 2 seed, tying last season's runner-up finish for the best for the program as a member of the league with both coming under the guidance of Head Coach Kristin Vesely.
TENNIS

Senior Sveva Mazzari and sophomore Tsveta Dimitrova were named to The American Athletic Conference All-Conference Team.

Mazzari paced the Cougars during the spring season with a 19-1 record while playing primarily at the No. 2 singles position … Mazzari's 95.0 winning-percentage is the top winning-percentage in school history for the Cougars in a single spring season, topping the previous mark of 92.6 percent set by Elena Kordolaimi in 2015 … Dimitrova finished second on the squad in wins this season with 18 in the spring, including a 6-4, 6-4 victory over No. 66 Maria Kononova (UNT) … Dimitrova's 81.8 winning-percentage ranks tied for eighth in program history … The duo was Houston's most dominant force on the doubles court, picking up 13 wins in the spring season and 17 overall … The team compiled the ninth-best winning percentage in program history at 81.0, while their 86.7 percentage during spring season sits fourth all-time.

Houston's top performance of the day came in the long jump, when Jared Kerr posted the fifth-best mark in program history with a bound of 26-0.75 (7.94m) to finish second overall and first among collegiates in the competition … Kerr's mark sits 10th in the NCAA this season … Colin George won the high jump with a clearance of 6-7.0 (2.01m) … On the women's side, Birexus Hawkins won the 400-meter dash in 56.26 … Naomi Taylor won the 100-meter hurdles in 13/71 … The group of Ariele Adams, Essence Sample, Brianne Bethel and Sierra Smith won the 4x100-meter relay in 45.98 … Hawa Wague won the high jump with a mark of 5-5.0 (1.65m) … Priscilla Adejokun won the shot put with a toss of 44-11.0 (13.69m) … McKenzie Chapa won the discus with a heave of 143-06 (43.75m) … For complete results, click here.
