Fletcher Named American Pitcher OTW

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Houston Baseball junior Aaron Fletcher was named the American Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week following 8.0 shutout innings and a career-high 11-strikeout performance vs. USF last Saturday at Schroeder Park.
Houston improved to 19-12 on the year with the series win over the Bulls and stayed atop the league standings at 6-3.
The Pitcher of the Week honor was the second for Fletcher this season as he earned the honor back on March 26 following a complete-game shutout effort vs. Memphis.

- Tossed 8.0 shutout innings
- Struck out a career-high 11 hitters
- Allowed just five hits and one walk
- Lowered season ERA to 1.03 and career-ERA to 1.54
- Was part of a 1-0 shutout win with sophomore Carter Henry, who earned the save
Sophomore third baseman Jared Triolo was named to the Weekly Honor Roll.
Jared Triolo led Houston at the plate, hitting .517 (8x14) through three games, while scoring three runs and driving in a pair of RBI.
The Austin, Texas native helped the Cougars to a series win over USF and extended his on-base streak to 30 gams and his hit streak to 16 games.

Houston will welcome Rice to Schroeder Park on Tuesday, April 10 for a 6:30 p.m. first pitch.
The game will mark the second meeting between the two teams in the Silver Glove Series.
