After falling 9-6 in their series opener against USF on Friday, the Cougars rallied with 1-0 and 9-8 wins on Saturday and Sunday … On Friday, sophomore Jared Triolo tied his career high with four hits in a 4-for-5 effort … On Saturday, junior Aaron Fletcher struck out a career-high 11 and sophomore Nick Slaughter delivered a walk-off single in the ninth to lift the Cougars to a 1-0 shutout win … In the series finale, Houston rallied with a three-run seventh inning … Junior Joe Davis belted his third home run of the year, a three-run shot in the third inning … The home run by Davis was his 25th of his career, moving him into a tie for fifth all-time with Brett Cooley (2002-04) and Bruce Rios (1996-99) … For their efforts, Fletcher was named The American Pitcher of the Week and Triolo was named to the Honor Roll … Tuesday's game at Texas A&M was cancelled due to inclement weather.

On Friday, Houston announced it was the newest member of the Jordan Brand roster … Head Coach Kelvin Sampson made the announcement in the team's locker room inside the Guy V. Lewis Development Facility on Friday morning … Following one of the most successful campaigns in decades, the University of Houston Men's Basketball program finished among the nation's top 25 in both national polls announced last week … The Cougars, who finished the season with a 27-8 overall record and tied for second in The American with a 14-4 mark, received 149 points to rank No. 22 in the final USA TODAY Coaches' poll … Houston earned 430 points to come in at No. 21 in the final Associated Press poll … This marked the first time since 1984 that the Cougars finished a season ranked among the Top 25 in a national poll and was only the 10th time in school history … Coming off one of the program's best seasons in decades, Houston Men's Basketball fans can begin preparing for the 2018-19 season when the Cougars compete in the $60-million Fertitta Center for the first time with the announcement of season-ticket pricing … Fans now have the opportunity to take their first steps toward the 2018-19 season by placing a $30 deposit on 2018-19 season tickets at UHCougars.com/mbbdeposit or by calling 713-462-6647 … For the seating map and more info, click here.

Houston Men's Golf finished sixth at the Aggie Invitational and sophomore Pryce Beshoory tied for third as an individual at the Bearkat Invitational.

On Tuesday, Houston defeated Texas, 3-1, in its 12th Annual Striking Out Breast Cancer Game … Sophomore first baseman Kelli Montgomery provided all the offense needed in the win with a three-run home run in the bottom of the first … At USF, the Cougars rallied to score nine runs in the top of the seventh inning to win 9-1 in the series opener on Friday night before falling 3-2 and 7-4 across the final two games … On Saturday, the second game was halted due to rain and resumed Sunday morning … For the week, sophomore second baseman Arielle James went 10-for-15 with one double, four RBI, three runs scored, two stolen bases and a hit by pitch … For her efforts, she was named The American Player of the Week … The conference nod is the first of her career and second for the Cougars on the season after senior shortstop Mariah Garcia picked up the laurel after opening weekend.

Senior diver Micaela Bouter is set to compete at the 2018 Commonwealth Games after qualifying back in December … The 2018 Commonwealth Games will run April 11-14 … Bouter is set to compete in the 3-meter synchronized as well as the 1- and 3-meter springboard.
TENNIS
Last Week
Houston Tennis fell to SMU, 4-1, before closing out the regular season with two 4-0 sweeps of Prairie View A&M to move to 19-3 overall and 2-2 in The American.

After falling at SMU, the Cougars rebounded with a pair of sweeps against PVAMU … Against the Panthers, Tsveta Dimitrova (2), Sveva Mazzari (2), Lauren Alter (1), Allison Mills (1) and Laura Bernardos (1) all won singles … In all three matches, Houston won the double point … With the wins over PVAMU, the Cougars improved to 14-0 at home, marking the program's best finish at home since 2006 … The Cougars, having wrapped the regular season, will take their first step into the postseason when they compete at the American Athletic Conference Championships on April 18-21 in Dallas.
TRACK & FIELD
Last Week
Houston Track & Field continued its outdoor season hosting the Houston Alumni Invitational at Carl Lewis Complex. In total, the Cougars won nine events and recorded 23 podium finishes.

At the Houston Alumni Invitational, junior thrower Taylor Scaife shattered her own school record in the hammer throw and became the first woman in Houston history to throw the hammer more than 200 feet, posting a top throw of 203-9 (62.10m) … The mark tops Scaife's previous school record of 195-6 (59.60m) set a week ago at the Texas Relays and moved her to No. 16 in the nation … Nora Monie opened Saturday with Houston's first of eight wins on the day … In the shot put, Monie used her fourth attempt to throw 49-7.75 (15.13m) to take the top spot … Senior Brian Barraza won the 1,500-meter run in 3:46.82 to run the 42nd fastest time in the NCAA this season and break the Carl Lewis Complex record and meet record in the event … Amere Lattin won the 110-meter hurdles in a wind-aided 13.92 … The Cougars then swept men's and women's 100-meter dash competitions … Brianne Bethel took first on the women's side in 11.42, while Cameron Burrell posted a season-best 10.49 to win on the men's side … The Cougars tallied another win in the field with a 1-2 finish in the men's long jump … Jared Kerr used his fifth attempt to leap 24-8.25 (7.52m) to take the victory … Samiyah Samuels completed the long-jump sweep for the Cougars with a win on the women's side … Samuels jumped 19-8.25 on her first attempt and built a comfortable lead to pass on her final three attempts and take the win … Birexus Hawkins made her return to the track after missing the indoor slate to win the 400-meter hurdles in 1:00.13 … Felipe Valencia continued his strong season in the shot put with another win in the competition on Saturday … Valencia used his final attempt to mark 59-2.75 (18.05m) to take the gold … For complete results, click here.
