HOUSTON -- Houston Baseball fell down by three early and wasn't able to respond as it dropped Tuesday's midweek game to Houston Baptist, 3-1, at Schroeder Park.

With the loss, the Cougars fell to 5-6 on the year, while HBU improved to 5-8 on the year.

Joe Davis extended his on-base streak to 12 games, dating back to 2017.
Davis belted his second home run of the year and 24th of his career to move into seventh all-time on the Houston home run chart.
Joey Pulido tossed a career-long 6.2 innings and struck out a career-high eight in his outing.
Drew Minter doubled and how has six on the year -- a team-high.

Houston starter Brayson Hurdsman made his first start of 2018 and lasted 2.1 innings, allowing three runs on five hits, including a two-run home run in the first inning with three strikeouts. He fell to 0-3 with the loss.

Senior reliever Joey Pulido took over in the third and went a career-long 6.2 innings, surrendering no runs on four hits with one walk with a career-high eight strikeouts.

KEY INNINGS
1st | Houston Baptist jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first on a double and two-run home run.

3rd | The Huskies added to their lead in the third following a three-hit frame.

6th | Houston found the scoreboard in the bottom of the sixth as Joe Davis belted his second home run of the year and 24th of his career to make it a 3-1 game.

Houston will continue its homestand with a matchup vs. McNeese at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. Following the midweek action, Houston will welcome San Diego to campus for a three-game series, beginning Friday at 6:30 p.m.
