HOUSTON -- For the second straight night, Houston Baseball's starter delivers a masterful complete game shutout as Aaron Fletcher notched a career performance to help the Cougars to a 3-0 shutout win over Memphis at Schroeder Park.
The win lifted Houston to a 15-8 overall record and a 2-0 start in American Athletic Conference action, while the Tigers fell to 8-15 overall and 0-2. Houston has won seven straight games.

Jared Triolo, once again, led the Houston offense with a three-hit night, highlighted by his first, a two-out, two-run double in the first inning to put Houston on top for good.
Teammate Lael Lockhart Jr. also had a two-hit night and scored a run, while Joe Davis and Connor Hollis extended their on-base streaks with base hits.
PITCHING BREAKDOWN

Junior starter Aaron Fletcher was stellar in his sixth start of 2018. He tossed a career-long 9.0 innings en route to his first career complete game.
The southpaw fanned a career-high nine, surpassing his previous high of six, which has happened twice, last coming vs. Mississippi State. Fletcher only allowed four hits and did not surrender a walk to move to 4-0 on the year and lower his ERA to a program-best 0.95.
Fletcher and Friday starter Trey Cumbie went back-to-back with complete game shutouts for the Cougars to open American Athletic Conference play.
KEY INNINGS
1st | Jared Triolo, for the second straight game, put Houston on the scoreboard first as he plated Connor Hollis and Lael Lockhart Jr. with a two-out, two-run double into left center for the 2-0 lead. Hollis and Lockhart each singled to reach.
5th | Houston extends its lead to 3-0 following a Memphis defensive miscue, scoring Tyler Bielamowicz, who led off the frame with a pinch hit walk.
ON DECK
Houston and Memphis will wrap up the weekend American series at 1 p.m. Sunday.
Sunday is Kids Day, which means all kids 12 & under receive FREE admission and have the opportunity to run the bases postgame and receive autographs from the Cougars.
