HOUSTON â€" The Houston Cougar Women's Tennis team returns home to face Louisiana Tech on Saturday, March 24. First serve is set for 1 p.m. at the Barbara Wallace Winston Tennis Facility.
The Cougars are 10-0 at home this spring season and will look to maintain that undefeated record. The 10-0 start is the best for Houston since finishing the 2006 season with a perfect 14-0 mark.
The Cougars are coming off only their second loss of the season in a match against South Florida in Tampa. South Florida, the reigning American Athletic Conference champions, beat Houston 4-2 in a competitive match.
Houston battled in doubles play but eventually were beaten at the first and second line. Tsveta Dimitrova and Ana Glumac lost 6-1 to Vanja Klaric and Nicole Dzenga. Following that match, Alison Mills and Lauren Alter fell 6-3 to Juliana Cardoso and Jessica Chaves.
South Florida led 1-0 in the overall match heading into singles. The Bulls took the first singles match, but Lauren Alter and Tsveta Dimitrova were able to win their singles matches to tie the match at 2-2. Ana Glumac and Constandena Nicolaou were outlasted in their matches to give South Florida the match 4-2.
ABOUT THE BULLDOGS
