Naomi Taylor Named American Athlete OTW

Cougar sophomore ranks second in the NCAA 60-meter hurdle rankings
HOUSTON – Houston Cougar Track & Field sophomore hurdler Naomi Taylor has been named the American Athletic Conference Women's Track Athlete of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.

Taylor opened her second season on campus with a win in the 60-meter hurdles at the Texas A&M Reveille Invitational. Taylor, the 2017 American silver medalist in each of the indoor 60- and outdoor 100-meter hurdles just missed a meet record, when she crossed the finish line in 8.33 to win by more than a tenth of a second.

Taylor's time ranks as the No. 2 mark in the NCAA 60-meter hurdles through the early part of the indoor season. The Athlete of the Week award for Taylor is the first of her career.

UP NEXT FOR HOUSTON
The Cougars will have a month off from competition for finals and the winter holidays before returning to action on Friday, January 12, 2019 to host the Leonard Hilton Memorial Invitational.
