Cougars hosted career for junior and senior student-athletes

HOUSTON -- The University of Houston Athletics Department hosted a career fair in the TDECU Stadium Club on Monday.
“I thing it's a really good networking opportunity and leads to great opportunities for them,” said Tyler Segura of the Cram Crew.
Following an informal mixer, each student-athlete was paired with five companies at the event, meeting with each for 15 minutes.
At the completion of the four rounds, the event concluded with a breakout mixer allowing student-athletes and attending companies the opportunity to continue networking.
“I think it's very important to attend these career fairs, because your future is everything,” said junior defensive back Bradley Mbu. “Unfortunately, sports don't last forever and a career will take you very far. Coming to these events are very helpful.”
The career fair offered an opportunity for student-athletes to leave with a better understanding of the interview and networking experience, having applied the techniques learned during workshops leading up to the event.
