HOUSTON â€" For the second consecutive week, senior sprinter Elijah Hall has been named The American Athletic Conference Track Athlete of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.
Hall continued his strong start to his senior season with a victory in the 200-meter dash at the Mark Colligan Memorial, on Saturday. The Katy, Texas, native clocked the nation's fourth fastest time at 20.76, just missing his own school record in the event, to claim the victory.
With the effort, Hall now has top-5 times in two separate events this season, including the men's 60-meter dash, where he sits second in the NCAA after running 6.60 at the Leonard Hilton Memorial Invitational. For Hall, the award is the fourth in his career with the Cougars and is Houston's third award this season after senior Tonye'cia Burks claimed the field award alongside Hall's track honor on Jan. 16.
