Houston Baseball juniors Trey Cumbie (Second Team) and Joe Davis (Third Team) were tabbed Preseason All-Americans by Perfect Game entering the 2018 season ... Houston was one of 10 schools nationally with multiple All-American representatives across the organization's three teams and join Wichita State has the only two American teams with at least a pair of players represented ... Houston Baseball will hold its annual Fan Appreciation Day & Alumni Game on Saturday, Feb. 10, at 12:30 p.m. ... Gates will open at 10:30 a.m. ... The event is free and open to the public ... Season tickets for 29 regular-season home games are available for $200 for the reserved chairback seating on the lower level of the concourse of the stadium ... Against Tulsa, Houston hit an American Athletic Conference record 18 3-pointers ... The 18 treys also tied the second-highest total in Houston single-game history, equaling the 18 treys against SMU (Feb. 16, 2008) and at Rhode Island (Nov. 13, 2006) and trailing only the school record of 19 against Florida Tech on Nov. 22, 2005) ... Senior Rob Gray posted a game-high 34 points, while sophomore Armoni Brooks (15 points), junior Corey Davis Jr. (14 points), senior Wes VanBeck (10 points) and junior Gabe Grant (10 points) all eclipsed double figures ... At ECU, Davis led all with 20 point, while Fabian White Jr. added 17 with six rebounds and three blocks ... As the former Hofheinz Pavilion is transformed into the $60-million Fertitta Center, the Cougars will play their 2017-18 home games inside Health & PE Arena on the campus of nearby Texas Southern University.

Against Cincinnati, four of Houston's six players who saw action scored in double figures ... Sophomore Jasmyne Harris led all scorers with 29 points, her fourth-consecutive 20-point game ... Sophomore Angela Harris added 18 points, while junior Dorian Branch finished with 10 points ... Sophomore Serithia Hawkins picked up her second-consecutive double-double and 15th of her career with 14 points and a game-high 11 rebounds ... Against UConn, Harris recorded a team-best 15 points ... Junior Myyah West led Houston on the glass with seven rebounds, including five on the offensive end ... Hawkins pulled down six boards despite playing just 12 minutes after an ankle injury sidelined her late in the second quarter.
FOOTBALL

Already a consensus All-American and Outland Trophy winner, Houston sophomore defensive tackle Ed Oliver was named a semifinalist Monday for the Lombardi Award, presented to an NCAA Division I player, regardless of position, based on performance, leadership, character and resiliency ... Also The American Athletic Conference's Defensive Player of the Year and a finalist for the Nagurski Trophy, Oliver became Houston's eighth consensus All-American in December, and the first since Andre Ware accomplished the feat in 1989, the same year he won the Heisman Trophy ... Seven finalists will be selected for the Lombardi Award by voters this week and announced Monday, Jan. 22 ... Four finalists will be invited to the Lombardi Honors presentation in Houston.

Houston Men's Golf fans are invited to attend the program's annual fundraiser at the Insperity Dave Williams Cougar Am, set for 1 p.m., Monday, Feb. 12, at Golf Club of Houston ... All proceeds benefit Project 17, the Houston Men's Golf booster club ... Individual and team spots are open, but interested fans are encouraged to make reservations ... Teams can purchase a foursome for $5,000, while individuals can play for $1,250 per person ... That provides participants with opportunities to play with a Champions Tour professional or former Houston Golf star and includes food, drinks and a tee gift ... Fans are invited to join the nationally ranked Houston Women's Golf team's annual fundraiser, slated to begin at 3 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 14 ... The fun-filled event will be held at Topgolf Spring (560 Spring Park Center Blvd., Spring, TX 77373) ... All proceeds from the event benefit the Houston Women's Golf program ... Head Coach Gerrod Chadwell, Associate Head Coach Lucy Nunn and student-athletes will be on hand to participate with fans ... Tickets are available for $175 per person or $700 per foursome with snacks, dinner, drinks and a gift provided for each player ... Two-time LPGA Player of the Year Stacy Lewis Chadwell will be a special guest at the event ... Participants will also enjoy a silent auction with a variety of prizes. Mills joins the Cougars as a graduate transfer from South Carolina, where she competed from 2014-17 ... She will have one season of eligibility remaining ... In her career with the Gamecocks, Mills tallied nine wins, including three during her junior season ... The Duluth, Ga., native was an ITA Scholar-Athlete in 2016-17 and earned SEC Academic Honor Roll laurels in 2015, 2016 and 2017 ... Tairyan joins Houston by way of Moscow, Russia, and enters the spring semester as a freshman with four years of eligibility ... Tairyan attend Moscow State School 2086, where she finished inside the top-100 of the Russian national rankings ... Tairyan most recently competed in the Moscow Championship -- Grade A, where she finished as the runner-up in doubles competition ... Tairyan has won a multitude of championships on both the singles and doubles courts, including three Armenian Championships.

The Houston Cougar Men's and Women's Track & Field teams recorded six victories at the Leonard Hilton Memorial Invitational on Friday, inside Yeoman Fieldhouse. On Saturday, the men's 4x400-meter relay squad broke the school record with a 3:06.57 showing at Texas Tech's Corky Classic.

At the Leonard Hilton Memorial Invitational, Elijah Hall posted a personal-best 6.60 to win the 60-meter dash ... Hall's time is also the world's fastest in the event through the early season ... Houston finished 1-through-3 in the event with Mario Burke running 6.73 to finish second and rank tied for 13th in the NCAA this season, and freshman Joe Williams ran 6.77 to tie for the 23rd best mark in the nation and take third ... Senior Jared Kerr registered the Cougars' first win in the field events, taking the top spot in the men's long jump with a bound of 24-1.75 (7.36m) ... Felipe Valencia won the men's shot put with a 59-3.0 (18.06m) toss ... Senior jumper Tonye'cia Burks picked up the Cougars' final field victory, taking home the triple jump crown with a leap of 42-4.75 (12.92m), while Paige Lawrence finished third at 39-9.25 (12.12m) ... Chris Wallace won the 3,000-meter run with a time of 8:50.91 ... The team of Nikesha Keith, Ariele Adams, Brianne Bethel and Kristina Knowles won the 4x400-meter relays with a time of 3:59.97 ... Hyman joins Mike Bright, Edward DeGroot, Scott Fortune, Brian Gimmillaro, Brent Hilliard, Ron Lang, Liz Masakayan, Nina Matthies, Elaina Oden, Pat Powers, Larry Rundle, Steve Salmons, John Speraw and Ernie Suwara as the second induction class to the SCIVBHOF ...
