VALENTINE, Neb. â€" The University of Houston Men's Golf program tees off its 2017-18 season this weekend at The Jackrabbit at Prairie Club.
The Cougars will play 18 holes each day, starting Sunday morning, on the 7,726-yard Dunes Course against a 14-team field.
According to the best Houston records, this marks the first time the Cougars have competed in Nebraska in school history.
A year ago, the Cougars tied for second at the American Athletic Conference Championships and advanced to NCAA Regional play for the sixth consecutive season.

TEE TIMES
Sunday's and Monday's rounds begin at 9 a.m. each day with Tuesday's Final Round teeing off at 8:30 a.m.
LINEUP
Now in his ninth season at Houston, Director of Golf Jonathan Dismuke recently announced that sophomore Zach Tracy, freshman Alexander Frances, seniors Alan De Bondt and Papito Gonzalez and junior Matt Williams will represent Houston in the starting lineup.
Frances will be making his collegiate debut in his first season with the Cougars.
In addition, senior and 2017 American Athletic Conference Championships medalist Michael Perras and sophomores George Gardner and Tony Gill will compete as individuals.
TEAM FIELD
The tournament features 14 teams, including UCF, Tennessee, South Carolina, Missouri, UConn, Boise State, UMKC, Oral Roberts, Kansas, Nebraska, Creighton, Santa Clara and host South Dakota State.
UP NEXT
Following The Jackrabbit, the Cougars return to Houston to join with Rice and Sam Houston State as hosts of the Bayou City Collegiate Classic on Oct. 9-10 at Golfcrest Country Club in Pearland, Texas.
Besides the Owls and Bearkats, Houston will face Abilene Christian, Arkansas State, Houston Baptist, Lamar, Lipscomb, Little Rock, Nebraska, SMU, Southern Miss, Texas State, UT Arlington and UTSA.
