OFFENSE
• With a two-play, 19-yard drive that spanned 29 seconds in the second quarter, Houston recorded its fastest scoring drive of the season.
DEFENSE
• The Houston defense held Texas Tech to seven points or less in all four quarters. The Cougars haven't allowed more than seven points in a quarter through their first three games of the season.
• With one turnover forced, Houston now has 132 since 2013, the most among FBS schools.
• The Houston defense held Texas Tech to 27 points. The Red Raider offense entered the contest averaging 54 points a game.
• Houston forced five three-and-outs.
Kyle Allen
• Junior quarterback Kyle Allen made the 17th start of his collegiate career Saturday and his third with the Cougars.
• With his interception on the third play from scrimmage, Allen ended a streak of 35 straight pass attempts without a pick, a career-long streak at Houston. At Texas A&M, he had a streak of 87 consecutive pass attempts without an interception starting in the third quarter at Ole Miss on Oct. 17, 2015, and lasting until the fourth quarter at LSU on Nov. 28, 2015.
• With an 18-yard touchdown pass to D'Eriq King at the 4:41 mark of the second quarter, Allen has recorded a touchdown pass in all three games of his Houston career.
• He finished 24-for-39 with 217 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions.
Steven Dunbar
• With his first reception of the game, senior wide receiver Steven Dunbar moved into the top 25 on the Houston career receptions chart with 117. He finished with six catches for 83 yards to move into 22nd all-time on the Houston receptions chart with 132 career receptions, passing Chuck Weatherspoon (117; 1987-90), Justin Johnson (120; 2007-11), Charles West (127; 1993-96) and Daniel Spencer (129; 2011-13).
• With a 20-yard reception late in the third quarter, Dunbar recorded his second and the team's 17th play of over 20 yards on the season.
John Leday
• Senior wide receiver John Leday recorded a 47-yard kickoff return prior to Houston's first drive of the second quarter. The return was his Leday's second kickoff return over 40 yards this season.
Caden Novikoff
• Junior kicker Caden Novikoff connected on a career-long 45-yard field goal with 8:26 left in the second quarter, Houston's first points of the game.
• With his make, Novikoff has recorded a field goal in all three games this season.
Terrell Williams
• Senior safety Terrell Williams picked off quarterback Nic Shimonek on Texas Tech's first play following a Houston fumble in the second quarter. The interception is Williams' first career interception.
D'Eriq King
• Sophomore quarterback D'Eriq King hauled in an 18-yard touchdown pass from junior quarterback Kyle Allen at the 4:41 mark of the second quarter. The receiving touchdown was King's first of the season and second overall of his career.
• With a 21-yard reception late in the third quarter, King recorded his first and the team's 16th play of over 20 yards on the season.
• King finished with five catches for 50 yards in his first game of the season.
Khalil Williams
• Senior safety Khalil Williams recorded a sack for a loss of nine yards to force Texas Tech to punt late in the second quarter. The sack is Williams' second of the season and fourth overall of his career.
• Williams finished with seven tackles, including two for loss.
• Williams has had multiple tackles for loss in each of the first three games. He entered the game ranked eighth nationally with an average of 2.0 tackles per loss per game.
Matthew Adams
• Senior linebacker Matthew Adams registered a career-high 15 tackles, including 1.5 for loss. He has recorded his eighth career game with double-digit tackles.
• Adams has 4.0 tackles for loss on the season and 18.5 for his career.
Linell Bonner
• With a 21-yard reception in the third quarter, senior wide receiver Linell Bonner recorded his fifth and the team's 15th play of over 20 yards on the season.
• With a four-yard touchdown reception from Kyle Postma, Bonner recorded his second touchdown of the season and 10th overall of his career.
With seven receptions, Bonner moved up to 15th on the Houston all-time catches list with 149, passing Mark Hafner (145; 2004-08).
With 66 yards, Bonner moved up to 20th on the Houston all-time receiving yards list with 1,692, passing Ron Peters (1,628; 1991-94), Freddie Gilbert (1,672; 1991-92) and Demarcus Ayers (1,687; 2014-16).
Dane Roy
• Sophomore punter Dane Roy placed four punts inside the Texas Tech 20-yard line.
• Roy recorded seven punts for 283 yards, including a season-high 52-yard boot.
Nick Thurman
• Senior defensive end Nick Thurman dropped Texas Tech quarterback Nic Shimonek for a loss of six yards. The sack was Thurman's first of the season and gives him 3.5 sacks for his career.
D'Juan Hines
• Senior linebacker D'Juan Hines registered a career-high 13 tackles, his second career double-digit tackles game.
Kyle Postma
• Senior quarterback Kyle Postma took over at quarterback midway through the fourth quarter.
• With a 20-yard rush late in the fourth quarter, Postman recorded his first and the team's 18th play over 20 yards on the season.
• With a nine-yard touchdown run at 4:29 in the fourth quarter, Postma recorded his first rushing touchdown of the season and the sixth overall of his career.
• With a four-yard strike to Linell Bonner with 15 seconds left in the game, Postma record his first passing touchdown of the season and fourth of his career.
• Postma finished 8-for-13 with 100 yards and one touchdown. He also added 52 yards and another touchdown on the ground.
• Postma recorded his second career game with at least one rushing and one passing touchdown. He also recorded one passing and rushing touchdown against No. 25 Memphis on Nov. 14, 2015.
Alex Leslie
• With a 29-yard reception late in the fourth quarter, senior tight end Alex Leslie registered his first and the team's19th play over 20 yards on the season. The 29-yard catch is also a career high and was Houston's longest play from scrimmage.
