KEY INNINGS
2nd | UConn took advantage of a few defensive miscues by the Cougars to plate one run in the top of the second inning to go ahead 1-0.
5th | Houston plated a pair of runs in the bottom of the fifth, all with two outs, to take its first lead of the day. Connor Hollis worked a walk and came around to score on a Padgett, two-out RBI single through the right side. The scoring continued when Davis found the right field line for a bloop double, scoring Connor Wong for the Cougars' second run to make it 2-1.
7th | UConn made it a 3-2 game in the seventh on a two-out, two-run home run that hit off the top of the left field wall.
Houston wouldn't allow the Huskies to hold their second lead for too long as Davis belted his seventh home run of the year -- a solo shot in the seventh with two outs to make it a 3-3 game.
8th | UConn found a way to use four hits and score four runs in the top of the eighth, while taking advantage of a defensive miscue that started the rally. The Huskies led 7-3 following the four-run eighth.
9th | Houston made it interesting in the ninth when it loaded the bases with no outs. A double play scored a run, but with two outs, the Huskies managed to escape by just allowing a single run and win, 7-4.
