HOUSTON â€" The #HTownTakeover placed nine on Athlon Sports' Preseason All-American Athletic Conference team the publication announced Wednesday.

The group was led by WR Linell Bonner, DT Ed Oliver and DB Garrett Davis on the first team with C Will Noble and LB Matthew Adams on the second team.
QB Kyle Allen and P Dane Roy are on the third team with RB Duke Catalon and OT Josh Jones on the fourth team.
With nine selections, Houston ranks third among teams in The American West behind Memphis (13) and Tulsa (11).
