Miller Named American Hitter of the Week

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- University of Houston senior utility player Shelby Miller has been named the American Athletic Conference Hitter of the Week, the league office announced on Monday afternoon.
In the 12th week of the regular season, Miller posted a .600/1.000/.563 slash with four multi-hit and four-multi-RBI games with all contests coming on the road. For the week, the native of Sweeny, Texas, went 9-for-15 at the plate with a double, triple and home run. She recorded nine RBI and five runs scored.
In Tuesday's contest at McNeese, Miller went 2-for-3 with two RBI. She followed up with a 2-for-4 showing with two RBI and a run scored and a 3-for-4 performance with a double, home run, three RBI and two runs scored in a doubleheader at Memphis on Friday. On Saturday, she finished 2-for-4 with a triple, two RBI and two runs scored to help the Cougars clinch the series, 2-1.
