HOUSTON -- The University of Houston Softball team returns to American Athletic Conference action hosting UConn in a three-game series across April 7-9 at Cougar Softball Stadium.

SINGLES
• Houston is coming off a 1-1 doubleheader split with Lamar on Tuesday. The Cougars took game one, 11-2, in five innings, before falling 6-0 in game two.
• Sophomore Maya Thomas paced the Cougars with a three-hit showing on the day. Thomas went 2-for-3 with a double, 2 RBI and a run scored in game one, before following with a 1-for-2 effort in game two.
• On the season, Houston leads the American Athletic Conference in on base percentage (.372), ranking second in slugging percentage (.425) and home runs (25) and walks (102).
• Individually, senior Shelby Miller leads the league with a .690 slugging percentage and 37 RBI. Sophomore Maya Thomas is second in The American with a .436 batting average, while freshman Arielle James sits sixth with a .376 batting average, first among freshmen.
• Freshman Trystan Melancon leads the Cougars with an 8-6 record in the circle, while sophomore Savannah Heebner is 7-6. Melancon's eight wins are tied for fourth in The American, while her 2.41 ERA ranks sixth. Heebner's seven wins and 2.43 ERA rank sixth and eighth in conference, respectfully. Sophomore Presley Bell is 2-4 with a 4.20 ERA and one save. Bell has nine appearances in relief. Freshman Hannah Wolfe carries a 3.71 ERA though seven relief appearances.
• Houston leads UConn, 8-1, in the all-time series and is 3-0 when hosting the Huskies. UConn is making its second visit to Cougar Softball Stadium since the series began in 2014.
