HOUSTON -- The University of Houston Softball team will conclude its five-game, non-conference swing with a doubleheader against Lamar on Tuesday at Cougar Softball Stadium. The first game will begin at 4 p.m. with the second game slated for a 6 p.m. start.
Fans should note the 4 p.m. start is one later than the initial 3 p.m. publicized time.

SINGLES
• Houston is looking to end its current non-conference stretch on a high note after three losses last week. The Cougars fell 1-0 to McNeese on Wednesday, before being edged out 3-1 and 2-1 in a doubleheader at Texas on Sunday.
• At Texas, senior Shelby Miller and redshirt sophomore Sarah Barker co-led the team with two-hit performances in game two. Sophomore Savannah Heebner highlighted the offense with a double in game one.
• On the season, Houston leads The American in on base percentage (.375), ranking second in batting average (.287), slugging percentage (.429) and home runs (24).
• Individually, senior Shelby Miller leads the league with a .699 slugging percentage, ranking second with 33 RBI. Sophomore Maya Thomas is third in The American with a .425 batting average, while freshman Arielle James sits sixth with a .375 batting average, first among freshmen.
• Sophomore Savannah Heebner and freshman Trystan Melancon co-lead the Cougars with 7-6 records in the circle. Their seven wins are tied for fifth in The American. Melancon leads the team with a 2.39 ERA, ranking sixth in the conference, while Heebner sits seventh with a 2.41 ERA. Sophomore Presley Bell is 2-3 with a 3.78 ERA and one save. Bell has nine appearances in relief, while freshman Hannah Wolfe has seven relief appearances.
• Houston leads Lamar, 7-1, in the all-time series and is 4-0 when hosting the Cardinals. The Cougars welcome Lamar to Cougar Softball Stadium for the first time since 2015 and just the third time since the series began in 2013 when the Cardinals brought softball back after a 25-year hiatus.
