HOUSTON -- The University of Houston Softball team will continue American Athletic Conference play, hosting East Carolina in a three-game series across April 21-23 at Cougar Softball Stadium.

SINGLES
• Houston is coming off a tough series sweep last week at the American Athletic Conference leader in Tulsa. The Cougars fell 1-0 in 10 innings in their series opener before falling 6-5 in game two and 7-3 in the series finale. Houston's Tuesday doubleheader at No. 15/13 Baylor was halted in game one due to weather and ultimately cancelled.
• On the season, Houston leads The American in on base percentage (.378), ranking second in batting average (.290), slugging percentage (.425), runs scored (208) and earned run average (2.73), and is tied for second in home runs (29).
• Individually, senior Shelby Miller leads the league with 42 RBI and ranks second with a .658 slugging percentage. Sophomore Maya Thomas is second in The American with a .422 batting average, while freshman Arielle James sits seventh with a .374 batting average, first among freshmen.
• Sophomore Savannah Heebner (9-8) and freshman Trystan Melancon (9-7) co-lead the Cougars with nine wins in the circle. Their nine wins are tied for fourth in The American. Heebner's 2.21 ERA ranks fourth in conference, while Melancon's 2.81 ERA sits 10th. Sophomore Presley Bell is 2-4 with a 3.88 ERA and one save. Bell has 11 appearances in relief and six starts. Freshman Hannah Wolfe carries a 3.32 ERA though eight relief appearances.
• Houston leads ECU, 30-17, in the all-time series and is 19-7 when hosting the Pirates.
