HOUSTON -- Coming off a series sweep of UConn, the University of Houston Softball team will continue American Athletic Conference play, visiting Tulsa in a three-game series across April 13-15 at Collins Family Softball Complex.

SINGLES
• The series matchup features the two first place teams in the American Athletic Conference, as both Houston and Tulsa are 5-1 entering Thursday.
• Houston is coming off a 4-1 week at Cougar Softball Stadium. The Cougars split a doubleheader with Lamar, winning 11-2 (five innings) and falling 6-0 on Tuesday, before sweeping UConn behind 6-0, 6-4 and 22-0 (five innings) wins over the weekend. Houston's midweek visit to Stephen F. Austin was cancelled due to weather.
• Last week, sophomore Savannah Heebner posted a 2-0 record, 0.54 ERA and .146 opponent batting average across 13.0 innings pitched. Hitting for herself, Heebner also recorded the first multi-home run game of her career with a three-run jack and grand slam against UConn on Sunday. Meanwhile, sophomore Maya Thomas led the team with a .563/.625/.563 slash. Thomas, who finished 9-for-16 with a double, two RBI, seven runs scored and two stolen bases, hit safely in all five games and posted three multi-hit performances, including two against UConn. For their efforts, both Heebner and Thomas were named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll.
• On the season, Houston leads The American in on base percentage (.386), ranking second in batting average (.295), slugging percentage (.438) home runs (29), RBI (180) and runs scored (200).
• Individually, senior Shelby Miller leads the league with 40 RBI. Sophomore Maya Thomas is second in The American with a .449 batting average, while freshman Arielle James sits sixth with a .387 batting average, first among freshmen.
• Sophomore Savannah Heebner and freshman Trystan Melancon co-lead the Cougars with 9-6 records in the circle. Their nine wins are tied for fourth in The American. Heebner's 2.16 ERA ranks second in conference, while Melancon's 2.46 ERA sits seventh. Sophomore Presley Bell is 2-4 with a 4.09 ERA and one save. Bell has 10 appearances in relief. Freshman Hannah Wolfe carries a 3.71 ERA though seven relief appearances.
• Houston and Tulsa are tied 17-17 in the all-time series. The Cougars are 7-9 in trips to Tulsa.
