HOUSTON -- Winners of four straight and five of its last six, the University of Houston Softball team will continue its current homestand hosting Prairie View A&M and Texas Southern in a pair of doubleheaders between Friday and Saturday at Cougar Softball Stadium.

SINGLES
• The Cougars are coming off a 10-0, five-inning shutout of Georgetown on Tuesday night at Cougar Softball Stadium. Redshirt sophomore Sarah Barker highlighted the offense with a 2-for-3 performance with two RBI, three runs scored and a stolen base. Junior Kaylin Crumpton and sophomore Savannah Heebner each doubled in a two-hit showing at the plate.
• Sophomore Savannah Heebner was named the American Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week on Monday. In the fourth week of the regular season, Heebner posted a 2-0 record and 2.00 ERA behind two complete games in wins at No. 5/5 Texas A&M, 1-0, and against Sam Houston State, 6-5, in the Houston Hilton Plaza Classic.

• On the season, Houston leads The American in batting average (.302) and hit by pitch (13), while ranking second in slugging percentage (.467), on base percentage (.391), hits (157), triples (5), home runs (19), walks (61), RBI (108) and runs scored (117).
• Three Cougars lead The American in separate hitting categories. Sophomore Maya Thomas holds the league lead with a .511 batting average, while freshman Arielle James leads the conference with 28 hits. Senior Shelby Miller leads The American with 28 RBI.
• In the circle, sophomore Savannah Heebner leads the Houston staff with a 4-3 record and 2.77 ERA. Freshman Trystan Melancon is 4-5 on the season, while sophomore Presley Bell is 2-2. Freshman Hannah Wolfe has made seven appearances in relief.
• The Cougars are 4-0 all-time against PVAMU, hosting the Panthers for the first time since 2013. Houston is 15-1 all-time against TSU and 14-1 when hosting the Tigers.
