Heebner Named American Pitcher of the Week

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Houston sophomore Savannah Heebner has been named the American Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week, the league office announced on Monday afternoon.
In the fourth week of the regular season, Heebner posted a 2-0 record and 2.00 ERA behind two complete games in wins at No. 5/5 Texas A&M, 1-0, and against Sam Houston State, 6-5, in the Houston Hilton Plaza Classic at Cougar Softball Stadium.
On Wednesday, March 1, Heebner went toe-to-toe with the previously unbeaten Aggies. The native of Sedalia, Colo., scattered four hits and three walks while striking out five to record her first shutout of the season and fourth overall of her career.
Heebner followed with another complete game against SHSU on Friday in Houston's host tournament, working around 11 hits, five runs (four earned) with four walks and one strikeout.

The weekly honor is the first for the Cougars in 2017 and first for Heebner overall for her career.
