HOUSTON -- After eight games at home, the University of Houston Softball team will hit the road to open American Athletic Conference play, visiting UCF in a three-game series across March 24-26 at UCF Softball Complex.

SINGLES
• The Cougars are coming off a 0-1 week, falling 7-0 to Texas State on Wednesday to end the team's eight-game win streak.
• On the season, Houston leads The American in batting average (.300) and on base percentage (.388), ranking second in slugging percentage (.463), home runs (23) and hit by pitch (17).
• Two Cougars lead The American in separate hitting categories. Sophomore Maya Thomas leads the league with a .491 batting average, ranking 12th in the NCAA, and a .508 on base percentage. Senior Shelby Miller leads the conference with 32 RBI, sitting 15th in the NCAA, and ranks second with a .770 slugging percentage. Miller also sits third in The American with eight home runs, a mark that ranks 20th in the country.
• Sophomore Savannah Heebner (6-4) and freshman Trystan Melancon (6-5) lead the Cougars in the circle. The two each have six wins, tied for fifth in The American. Heebner leads the team with a 2.28 ERA, ranking fourth in the conference, while Melancon sits fifth with a 2.35 ERA. Sophomore Presley Bell is 2-2 with a 3.46 ERA and one save. Bell has eight appearances in relief, while freshman Hannah Wolfe has seven relief appearances.
• Houston is 2-1 all-time in American Athletic Conference openers. This marks the first time the Cougars will open conference play on the road, as well as face UCF to open league action.
• Houston trails UCF, 16-18, in the all-time series and is 4-13 when visiting the Knights.
