Cougars Fall to Texas State to End Streak

HOUSTON -- The University of Houston Softball team fell 7-0 to Texas State on Wednesday night at Cougar Softball Stadium.
With the decision, the Cougars fall to 14-12 overall, while the Bobcats improve to 17-4. The loss ends Houston's eight-game winning streak and string of five straight shutouts.
Teammates Sarah Barker, Savannah Heebner, Elise LeBeouf and Maya Thomas all recorded one hit, registering four singles collectively.
Heebner was saddled with the loss, allowing six runs (two earned) on five hits with four walks and two strikeouts across three-and-one-third innings pitched. Freshman Trystan Melancon gave up one unearned run on two hits with two walks and two strikeouts in two-and-two-thirds innings pitch. Sophomore Presley Bell retired the side in one inning of relief.
KEY INNINGS
The Bobcats plated two runs in the third, four runs in the fourth and one run in the fifth.
