NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas -- The University of Houston Women's Golf program opens the 2017 spring season when it tees off at 8:30 a.m., Monday, at the Texas State Invitational at The Bandit Golf Club.
The Cougars will send four student-athletes to the tournament, which was recently added to the team's spring schedule. Sophomore Leonie Harm and juniors Courtney Tibiletti, Megan Thothong and Kelli Rollo will compete as individuals at the two-day, 54-hole tournament.
Houston will play 36 holes Monday with the final 18 holes scheduled to tee off with an 8:30 a.m., shotgun start Tuesday. The Cougars will face student-athletes from Arkansas State, Boise State, Boston College, Central Arkansas, Georgia Southern, North Dakota State, Houston Baptist, Incarnate Word, Little Rock, North Texas, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, UTEP, UTSA, Stephen F. Austin, Xavier and host Texas State.
This week's tournament will be the Cougars' first action since finishing seventh at the rain-shortened Trinity Forest Invitational presented by Vic Salvino in Dallas on Nov. 7-8.

THE LINEUP
Leonie Harm -- 74.22 average with two rounds of par or better in 2016-17... Led the Cougars at the season-opening Mason Rudolph Championships... Lowered her scores by at least two strokes with each round and capped that tournament with a 2-under- 70 to tie for 15th... Was Houston's first NCAA Championships participant in school history after tying for seventh at the 2016 NCAA Baton Rouge Regional... Native of Gerlingen, Germany, and product of Privatgymnasium St. Leon Rot.
Megan Thothong -- 74.56 average... 2016 All-American Athletic Conference honoree... Posted a 71 at the Jim West Challenge on Oct. 9-10 and tied for 48th at that event... Competed in U.S. Amateur Championship in August 2016 for the second straight season... Native of Dallas and product of Plano West Senior High School.
Courtney Tibiletti -- 74.00 average... Tied for 11th at the Bearkat Invitational on Oct. 3-4, 2016, with a score of Native of Huntsville, Texas, and product of Huntsville High School.
Kelli Rollo -- 75.71 average... Tied for eighth at the Bearkat Invitational on Oct. 3-4 at Raven Nest Golf Club in Huntsville, Texas... Opened that tournament with a career-best 72... One of the first four members of Houston Women's Golf after joining team in 2013-14... Native of Mont Belvieu, Texas, and product of Barbers Hill High School.
LAST TIME OUT
In their last tournament, the Cougars closed out the fall season and tied for seventh at the rain-shortened Trinity Forest Invitational presented by Vic Salvino on Nov. 7, 2016, in Dallas.
Junior Ivon Reijers led the Cougars with an 18-hole total of 74 to tie for third, while freshman Amanda Elich -- making her collegiate debut -- tied for 20th at 77.
UP NEXT
Following the Texas State Invitational, the Cougars open their spring team season when they compete at the Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate Championship on Feb. 19-21 at English Turn Country Club in New Orleans.
From there, the Cougars host their first tournament in program history when they compete at The Dickson on Feb. 27-28 on the Tournament Course at The Woodlands Country Club in The Woodlands, Texas.
