EUGENE, Ore â€" University of Houston freshman Leonie Harm fired an even-par 72 during Saturday's Second Round at the NCAA Championships to move into a tie for 54th at 146.
Competing on the 6,331-yard, par-72 course at Eugene Country Club, Harm began Saturday's round in the afternoon off No. 10. The Gerlingen, Germany native started with six straight pars before suffering a bogey on No. 16.
Fortunately, she rallied with a birdie on the par-5 17th hole and then drained six consecutive pars before enduring another bogey on the sixth hole.
Harm responded with back to-back birdies on Nos. 7-8 before ending the round with a bogey on her final hole of the day.
No. 2 USC held the team lead with a score of 569 to stand five strokes ahead of No. 13 Washington. No. 3 UCLA (577), No. 12 Stanford (578) and No. 8 Oklahoma State (579) and No. 20 Oregon (579) rounded out the top-6 leaders.
Individually, Dewi Weber of Miami (Fla.) stood atop the leaderboard at 9-under-par 135 after shooting a 66 Saturday. Tennessee's Anna Newell was second at 136 with Virginia Elena Carta of Duke in third at 137.
All teams and individuals will compete in 54 holes of stroke play beginning Friday through Sunday. Following Sunday's Third Round, the field will be reduced to the top-15 teams along with the top nine individuals not on an advancing team for one additional round.
With the completion of Saturday's play, the top-9 individuals not on a qualifying team stood at 1-over-par 145 or better.
Monday's Final Round of stroke play will determine the 72-hole NCAA individual national champion and determine the top-eight teams advancing to match-play competition for the NCAA team national championship.

Competing in only its second season of team competition, Houston missed qualifying as a team for the NCAA Championships by only two strokes at the NCAA Baton Rouge Regional. Under Head Coach Gerrod Chadwell's leadership, the program was added to the Houston Department of Athletics for the 2013-14 season and only began competing for team championships in 2014-15 per NCAA rules.
Despite the program's brief history, the Cougars have established themselves as one of the nation's best. Houston has qualified to compete at an NCAA Regional in every season in which it was eligible and ranks at No. 28 nationally in the latest Golfstat poll.
PAIRINGS
For Sunday's Third Round, Harm will compete in a group with Arizona State's Linnea Strom and LSU's Elise Bradley, beginning at 2:55 p.m. (CDT) off No. 1.

Tee times for Sunday's Third Round will be determined by the standings after Second Round.
ABOUT HARM
Harm, who only joined the Cougars at the start of the spring semester, became a fixture in the Cougars' starting lineup in the second half of the season. She earned her place in the nation's premier collegiate event after tying for seventh with a score of 1-under-par 215 at the NCAA Baton Rouge Regional on May 5-7.
Harm moved into the team's starting lineup at the UNF Collegiate on March 7 and helped lead the Cougars to their second team tournament championship of the season.
She posted a score of 225, including a Second-Round 69, to help lead Houston to the American Athletic Conference team championship on April 17-19 at Hammock Beach Resort & Golf Club in Palm Coast Fla.
She carried that momentum into the NCAA Baton Rouge Regional. After opening with a Regional school-record 69, she overcame an 82 in the Second Round and posted another 69 in the Final Round to tie as the third individual qualifier for the NCAA Championships
