Freshman Elise LeBeouf follow with a base hit to put runners on first and second. Courtney Klingler reached base on a throwing error by the UConn first baseman, scoring Crumpton from second.
Two innings later, the Cougars added to their lead with three singles including an RBI base hit from Klingler.
A lead-off home run by designated player Alyson Ambler put the Huskies on the board, cutting the Cougars lead down 2-1.
UConn went on to tie the game in the bottom of the sixth on an RBI single into right field.
The two battled defensively before forcing extra innings. The Huskies claimed the win on a walk-off double to right center, scoring the winning run.
