HOUSTON â€" No. 25 Houston Baseball will ride the momentum of its 3-2 midweek win over Texas into Storrs, Conn. when it takes on American Athletic Conference foe UConn in a three-game series, beginning Friday at 2 p.m. CT.
The series will continue at Noon CT Saturday and wrap at 11 a.m. CT Sunday.
Houston is 20-12 on the year and is coming off an exciting win over in-state foe Texas at Constellation Field in Sugar Land, Texas last Tuesday. The Cougars are 3-3 in American Athletic Conference play and return to league action after earning a weekend series win over UCF last weekend at Darryl & Lori Schroeder Park.

ON DECK
Following the weekend series in Storrs, Conn. at UConn, the Cougars will return to Darryl & Lori Schroeder Park for five straight games, beginning with Texas A&M-Corpus Christi at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 19.
The home stand will continue with a weekend series vs. USF and wrap with a midweek matchup vs. Sam Houston State on Tuesday, April 26.
HITS ON HOUSTON
Houston is riding the arms of its pitching staff, which continues to rank among the nation's best in several categories. The Cougars own a 2.20 team ERA and have fanned 273 in 282.0 inning, while only walking 56. Opponents are hitting .211 against the Cougar pitchers.
Sophomore Seth Romero leads the charge on the mound with a 1.65 ERA in seven appearances and six starts. He has fanned 54 in 43.2 innings and is 4-1 on the year.
Freshman Mitch Ullom leads the team in wins with five, holding a 5-1 record in seven appearances and six starts. He is coming off his first career complete game shutout over UCF and is now 2-0 in conference play as the Cougars' Sunday starter.
Junior Andrew Lantrip is 4-4 with a 1.82 ERA in eight starts. He has two complete games to his name and has only walked three hitters in 59.1 innings with 56 strikeouts to lead the nation in strikeout-to-walk ratio.
Out of the bullpen, the Cougars rely on junior Nick Hernandez's arm, who is 1-0 with a 1.44 ERA and has a team-high six saves in 15 appearances. Freshman Trey Cumbie (1-1, 1.06) has been used in nine games out of the bullpen and is coming off his first collegiate victory, a win over Texas, following 3.1 innings of work out of the bullpen.
Junior Bubba Maxwell (0-0, 2.14, 2 SV) made his first career start vs. the Longhorns, but has been primarily used in late-game situations this season, making eight bullpen appearances.
Offensively, Houston is hitting .265 as a team, while slugging .376 with 40 doubles, eight triples and 21 home runs. The Cougars are 42-of-50 on the base paths, led by Zac Taylor's 15 stolen bases.
Freshman Joe Davis, this week's American Player of the Week, continues to lead Houston with a .359 average, 46 hits and 32 RBI, while belting seven home runs. Senior Michael Pyeatt follows with a .333 clip and sophomore Connor Wong leads the team with 27 runs scored to accompany his .306 average.
ABOUT UCONN
UConn will enter the weekend series with Houston, owning a 16-15 overall record and a 2-3 mark in American Athletic Conference play. The Huskies are riding three straight wins, including two midweek wins at home this week over Fairfield (2-1) and Bryant (6-3).
UConn opened league play hosting Tulane and the two teams split the two games with the Sunday finale cancelled due to snow. The Huskies would then travel to Cincinnati and drop the first two games, before rebounding to win the Sunday finale.
As a team, the Huskies are hitting .273 and slugging .403 with 23 home runs, 60 doubles and six triples. UConn is 29-of-46 on the base paths and fielding .965 with 41 errors.
Jack Sunberg leads the offense with a .316 average and has scored a team-high 29 runs. He is followed by Willy Yahn's .314 average and 43 hits.
UConn will start Co-Preseason Pitcher of the Year LHP Anthony Kay on Friday vs. the Cougars. He is 3-2 with a 3.40 ERA in eight starts. Kay has fanned 54 and walked 20 in 53.0 innings this season.
The Huskies will look to LHP Tim Cate on Saturday, who is 0-1 with a 1.87 ERA in six appearances and five starts. In 33.2 innings of work, Cate has struck out 47 and walked 14.
RHP William Montgomerie will get the nod on Sunday vs. Houston. He is 2-1 with a 4.33 ERA in eight appearances and six starts. He has struck out 43 hitters in 27.0 innings of work, while walking 11.
As a staff, UConn owns a 3.75 ERA with one complete game shutout on the year. The Huskies have fanned 285 hitters in 273.1 innings, while walking 112. Opponents are hitting .250 against the staff.
SERIES HISTORY
Houston and UConn have met seven previous times with the first meeting dating back to the 2014 season.
The Cougars are 6-1 all-time vs. the Huskies with back-to-back seasons of sweeps â€" both on the road in Storrs, Conn. and at home in Houston.
The lone loss for Houston came in the 2014 American Athletic Conference Championship.
Houston swept the series the last time it was in Storrs, Conn. back in 2014.

Houston Baseball will offer variable pricing on its single-game tickets and group rates.

As noted in the table above, variable pricing occurs. For weekday (Tuesday/Wednesday) games, prices range from $5-$7 depending on the choice of seating.
Weekend ((Thursday) Friday-Sunday) online pricing will range from $6-$8 per game.
GROUP RATES
Group rates are also available (as noted in the table). Weekday (Tuesday/Wednesday) and Weekend ((Thursday) Friday-Sunday) pricing occurs. Groups of 10-24 are set at $4-$5 per person, while groups of 25+ are $3-$4 per person.
All UH main campus students are admitted FREE to regular-season baseball home games with a valid student ID.
