Houston Football Spring Practice #12

The #HTownTakeover returned to TDECU Stadium Tuesday afternoon for the 12th spring practice of the 2016 season. Sweltering conditions at the beginning of practice were quickly replaced by cloud cover and a perfect temperature on John O'Quinn Field.
The practice started with an early change as the offense captured its second Circle Drill of the spring after tight end Alex Leslie and wide receiver Linell Bonner captured two early wins. After defensive end Zach Vaughan and cornerback Jeremy Winchester evened things up for the defense, offensive lineman Josh Jones came through with the win for the offense to return the belt to the offensive end zone.

Spring Practice Notes:
Wide receiver Steven Dunbar and safety Khalil Williams received Coach Tom Herman's Dudes of the Day award for Friday's scrimmage ... the honor marked Williams' third Dude of the Day this spring while the honor was Dunbar's second... Houston returns to practice Thursday afternoon, the second of four workouts scheduled for the fifth and final week of spring football ... Saturday's Red & White Game will feature Houston students James Lang, Sipo Afalani, Kashir Shirin and Etini Uddbong in the fastest student competition, racing Houston players for the chance to join the Houston team on a road trip this fall.
Houston's spring practices conclude with the 2016 Red & White Game presented by Energy Ogre at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 16, at TDECU Stadium. Fans can purchase general admission tickets ahead of time for just $5 at UHCougars.com/spring.
