Student Appreciation Practice set for April 8

HOUSTON - The Houston Football program will hold its second annual Student Appreciation Practice on Friday, April 8, at 4:30 p.m., and this year is debuting its Fastest Student competition, giving UH students a chance to travel with the team to an away game this fall.

The fastest eight students from the University of Houston will be invited to race at TDECU Stadium following the Student Appreciation Practice with the winner racing against a current member of the Houston Football program for a chance to win a trip for two with the team to either the Texas State (Sept. 24) or SMU (Oct. 22) games.
Prelims to determine the fastest eight will be held Thursday, March 31, from 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. on the grassy area between the M.D. Anderson Library and Philip Guthrie Hoffman Hall.
"Our students are the lifeblood of our university and our program, and we play for them. We've got the best student section in America," Houston head coach Tom Herman said. "Every game we knew we would come out of the tunnel to a student section filled to capacity, and this practice is just a small token of our appreciation for the energy they bring to every game at TDECU Stadium."
Students can enter the open practice through TDECU Stadium's ICON Gate 2 beginning at 4:15 p.m., April 8 with the first 200 students receiving a free H-Town Takeover t-shirt.
Houston students attending the practice will have the ability to stretch with the team, shadow Houston's coaches, field punts and attempt field goals while a live DJ provides the practice's soundtrack. In addition to the aforementioned activities, photo ops with the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl trophy and The American championship trophy will also be available to UH students.

2015 Houston Season Ticket Members can renew their season tickets now by visiting UHCougars.com/renew or by following the instructions in an email to each account holder. Season ticket members may renew in full or through an interest free payment plan with the final renewal deadline set for April 29. The renewal deadline to take advantage of a two-month payment plan is March 29.
