PREVIEW: Softball Opens American Athletic Conference Play

HOUSTON -- Houston Softball closes out the 14-game homestand this weekend as the Cougars host Tulsa for the opening week of American Athletic Conference play.
The Cougars (14-13) and Golden Hurricane (21-5) will open the three-game series on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. Game two of the series is set for 5:30 p.m. on Friday while the two close out the weekend on Saturday at noon.
All games will be streamed on Houston All-Access.

| HITS ON HOUSTON |
• Houston Softball picked up a big two-game sweep over Sam Houston State on Tuesday. The Cougars defeated SHSU 10-9 in game one and run-ruled the Bearkats 15-4 in game two.
• Five home runs and 25 runs scored highlighted the Cougars two victories.
• Freshman Rachel Hill led the Cougars will two home runs, a double and eight RBIs in the 12 innings played.
• Senior centerfielder Katie St. Pierre extended her reached base streak to 27 games this season and 28 straight dating back to last season.
