Blair Hamilton Named The American Golfer of the Week

HOUSTON â€" University of Houston senior All-American Blair Hamilton was honored Wednesday as the American Athletic Conference Golfer of the Week.
Hamilton was the Cougars' leading performer at the prestigious Valspar Collegiate Invitational earlier this week. The tournament featured one of the nation's elite collegiate fields with four of the top 10 and 10 of the top-25 teams in the latest Golfstat rankings.
The Burlington, Ontario, Canada, native posted a score of 3-over-par 216 on the 6,999-yard, par-71 course at Floridian National Golf Club. Hamilton enjoyed a 68 in the Second Round of that event, draining birdies on three of his final four holes for the Cougars' low round of the tournament.
This season, Hamilton ranks second among the Cougars with a 72.15 scoring average and 12 rounds of par or better.
UP NEXT
Following the Valspar Collegiate Invitational, the Cougars will compete at the 3M Augusta Invitational on April 2-3 at Forest Hills Golf Club in Augusta, Ga.
From there, the team will close out the regular season at The Maxwell Intercollegiate on April 16-17 at Dornick Hills Country Club in Ardmore, Okla.
