PREVIEW: Softball Hosts Sam Houston Tomorrow

HOUSTON â€" Houston Softball is set to host Sam Houston State tomorrow evening for a twi-night doubleheader at Cougar Softball Stadium.
The Cougars (12-13) and Bearkats (6-17) are set for a 4 p.m. first pitch. Game two of the doubleheader will start at 6 p.m. or 30 minutes following the end of game one.
Both games will be streamed on Houston All-Access.

• Houston Softball went 1-2 in a three-game series against Oklahoma State.
• The Cougars picked up their second win in extra innings to stay undefeated in extra play.
• Freshman outfielder Maya Thomas hit .636 against Oklahoma State as she racked up seven hits including five bunt singles.
• Three Cougars, Courtney Klingler, Brooke Vannoy and Kaylin Crumpton, hit .444 against OSU. Klingler had four hits, a double and two home runs to post a 1.222 slugging average.
• Senior centerfielder Katie St. Pierre extended her reached base streak to 26 games, dating back to 2015. She has climbed her way into the career record books and ranks in the top five in five categories â€" hits (211), runs scored (146), walks (94), hit by pitch (20), stolen bases (55). St. Pierre is six stolen bases away from tying the school record set by Jessica Valis (2006-09).
