Lantrip Tabbed National Player of the Week

TUCSON, Ariz. â€" Houston Baseball junior Andrew Lantrip produced a career-night in a win at No. 23 Alabama this past weekend and in turn was tabbed a Louisville Slugger National Player of the Week by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper, announced by the organization Monday.
The Livingston, Texas native tied his career-high in strikeouts with 13 and didn't walk a batter in his 8.0-inning outing. Lantrip allowed just one run on six scattered hits and held the Crimson Tide scoreless until the seventh inning.
With his 13 strikeouts in 8.0 innings, he now leads the club with 32 strikeouts in 26.1 innings pitched and is 2-2 on the season with wins over Villanova and No. 23 Alabama.
The National Player of the Week honor is the second for Houston in as many seasons as former Cougar Kyle Dowdy was awarded that honor in 2015.

• RHP Andrew Lantrip, Houston: Lantrip struck out a career-tying 13 hitters during a 3-1 win over Alabama as he went 8 complete innings with no walks.
• RHP Jesse Scholtens, Wright St.: Scholtens pitched the first perfect game in Wright St. baseball history during a 1-0 win over Dayton. He finished with 12 strikeouts in the 9-inning complete game as he threw 101 pitches.
• 1B Scott Schreiber, Nebraska: Schreiber hit 4 home runs and 2 doubles as he went 8-for-14 at the plate with 11 RBI and scored 6 runs over 4 games.
• C Peyton Maddox, Virginia Military Institute: Maddox hit 4 home runs with a double and 7 runs scored at he went 11-for-16 at the plate with 9 RBI and 20 total bases.
• RHP Alex Faedo, Florida: Faedo registered a career-high 13 strikeouts during a 3-1 win over Harvard as he went 8 1/3 innings and gave up only 2 hits. He retired the first 19 hitters of the game before yielding a 1-out single in the seventh.
• OF/1B Seth Beer, Clemson: Beer belted 4 home runs, 1 double and 10 RBI over 4 games and had a 1.250 slugging percentage.
• RHP Tyler Jackson, South Carolina Upstate: Jackson struck out a career-high 13 batters in a complete game, 7-1 victory over The Citadel. He only allowed one walk and one earned run.

Houston Baseball will begin a five-game week with two scheduled midweek contests, beginning with a trip to Lamar at 6 p.m. Tuesday and a home game at Darryl & Lori Schroeder Park vs. Texas Southern at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The Cougars return to action with an 8-6 record and are coming off a road series victory at No. 23 Alabama.

For a minimum monthly installment of $100 or a minimum one-time gift of $1,000, supporters can take advantage of the Diamond level, which will guarantee batting practice passes for two to any home game, invitation for two to exclusive Dugout Club events and Houston Baseball apparel.

BUY SEASON/ SINGLE-GAME / GROUP TICKETS
Houston Baseball has 24 remaining home games at Darryl & Lori Schroeder Park this 2016 season and fans can purchase season tickets for as low as $99 online by visiting UHCougars.com/tickets and following the appropriate links or by clicking here.
To purchase tickets in person, fans can visit the Athletics Ticket Stadium Office located on the northeast corner of TDECU Stadium, just outside of Gate 1 off Cullen Boulevard. Parking is available in the TDECU Stadium parking garage with the first 30 minutes free of charge. Regular business hours are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m., to 5:30 p.m.
Houston Baseball will offer variable pricing on its single-game tickets and group rates.

As noted in the table above, variable pricing occurs. For weekday (Tuesday/Wednesday) games, prices range from $5-$7 depending on the choice of seating.
Weekend ((Thursday) Friday-Sunday) online pricing will range from $6-$8 per game.
GROUP RATES
Group rates are also available (as noted in the table). Weekday (Tuesday/Wednesday) and Weekend ((Thursday) Friday-Sunday) pricing occurs. Groups of 10-24 are set at $4-$5 per person, while groups of 25+ are $3-$4 per person.
All UH main campus students are admitted FREE to regular-season baseball home games with a valid student ID.
