Houston Heads to College Station to Face the Aggies

College Station, Texas â€" After their first weekend at home, the No. 70 Houston tennis team is on the road again for a short trip to College Station to match up against No. 16 Texas A&M University on Saturday, Feb. 13 at 1 p.m.
The Cougars are coming off of two tough losses in their home opener last weekend. Houston matched up against both No. 58 Arizona and No. 48 Oregon without two of their top six players, Angela Lorenzo and Mina Markovic.
Despite coming up short of a win, the Coogs found success on the weekend. Houston secured their first doubles point of the season while playing on only two courts against Oregon. No. 96 Despoina Vogasari, who holds an overall season record of 13-7, also secured a victory for Houston in a quick two set win against Oregon at the No. 1 singles court.
The Aggies are returning home after competing in the ITA National Team Indoor competition in Madison, Wisconsin where they fell to No. 7 Duke 4-0 in the consolation round on Sunday. A&M was also hit with a loss on the first day of the competition to No. 9 Virginia 4-1, but followed by defeating Wisconsin 4-0 on Saturday. In total, the Aggies are coming into this weekend 4-3 for the spring season.
Playing for A&M at the first singles spot is No. 54 Saska Gavrilovska who is 9-3 overall for the season. Also falling into the ITA National Rankings this week is the doubles team of Rutuja Bhosale and Anna Mamalat, coming in at No. 45. The previously unranked duo has found much success on the courts with a current overall record of 11-4 this season.
UP NEXT FOR HOUSTON
After taking on Texas A&M, the Cougars will return home to prepare for their first double header of the season at John E. Hoff Courts against Prairie View A&M and Southern University on Saturday, Feb. 20.

Gifts to the Center Court Club provide financial support directly to the University of Houston Tennis program for needs beyond the program's operating budget. Revenue generated from the Center Court Club is used at the discretion of the Head Coach for program enhancements. Membership in the Center Court Club is annual and requires a minimum $100 gift.

ACE
For a minimum gift of $500, supporters receive a team poster and a signed tennis ball, private practice invitation and a stadium blanket.
US OPEN
For a minimum gift of $1,000, supporters receive a team poster and a signed tennis ball, private practice invitation, a stadium blanket, fleece jacket and a lesson from the coach.
GRAND SLAM
For a minimum gift of $2,500, supporters receive a team poster and a signed tennis ball, private practice invitation, a stadium blanket, fleece jacket, a lesson from the coach and a group lesson from the coaching staff.
