GAME NOTES
• The Cougars are 426-355-15 all-time.
• Houston is 9-3 overall this year and finish American Athletic Conference play with a 5-3 record.
• Memphis won the toss and elected to recieve. Seniors Brandon Wilson, Cameron Malveaux, Tyler McCloskey and Greg Ward Jr., were captains.
• Attendance was 36,527.
OFFENSE
• With 624 yards, the Houston offense collected their sixth game of the season and 53rd in program history with more than 500 yards of offense.
GREG WARD JR.
• With four passsing touchdowns, Greg Ward Jr. has 52 career passing touchdowns which stands fifth in program history. Ward also recorded his seventh multi-TD passing game of 2016 and 16th of his career.
• Ward has moved to fifth on the Houston career passing yards chart, passing Heisman winner Andre Ware (8,202 yards). Ward has also passed Chuck Clements for fifth on the career pass completions chart with 699 completions.
• The 47 completions for Ward are the fifth most in a single game in program history.
• Ward's 487 yards gives him his first career 400-yard passing game and 53rd in program history. Wards 400+ yard game is the first since David Piland threw for 580 yards against Louisiana Tech on Sept. 8, 2012.
• Ward tallied his fifth 300+ yard passing game of the season and now had eight in his career..
Duke Catalon
• Sophomore running back Duke Catalon scored Houston's first touchdown with a 10-yard rush, his fourth of his career, at the 5:09 mark of the opening quarter.
• Catalon finished with seven recpetions for 41-yards, his fourth game with at least five receptions this season.
Brandon Wilson
• With his 35-yard return in the game, senior cornerback Brandon Wilson recorded his fourth kick return for at least 30 yards this season.
Chance Allen
• Senior wide receiver Chance Allen connected on two touchdown receptions for 35 yards and three yards respectively, recording his fifth and sixth touchdown receptions of the season and 11th and 12th of his career.
Ty Cummings
• Senior kicker Ty Cummings drilled three field goals of 41 yards, 25 yards and 26 yards - his fourth game of the season with multiple field goals.
• With these three, Cummings has connected on 14 field goals this season and 22 in his career.
• With the 41-yarder, Cummings is 4-for-5 from 40+ yards in his career.
Tyler McCloskey
• With a 29-yard touchdown reception early in the second quarter, senior tight end Tyler McCloskey recorded his fourth touchdown of the season and fifth of his career. The touchdown reception is the longest of his career.
• McCloskey had a career-high game with 86 total yards and 7 receptions.
Linell Bonner
• Bonner recorded his third touchdown reception this season and eighth of his career, on a 55-yard pass from Greg Ward Jr. with 7:02 left to play giving Houston its first lead, 37-34.
• With 17 receptions, Bonner recorded his seventh game of the season and third consecutively with at least seven catches.
• Bonner's 17 receptions in a game are the eighth most in program history and a career-high receptions for the Houston native.
• With 235 yards, Bonner finished his sixth game with at least 80+ yards and becomes the 20th player in program history with a 200-yard receiving game. The mark also put him over the 1,000 yard threshold for the season, becoming the 19th player in Houston history to reach that mark.
• With 17 receptions, Bonner recorded his third career game with double-digit receptions, all in 2016.
• Bonner finished the contest with nine receptions of more than 10 yards and two with 20 or more, including his 55-yard touchdown reception.

• Junior saftey Khalil Williams recorded the first sack of his career in the fourth quarter, resulting in a seven-yard loss.
