HOUSTON – University of Houston Soccer Head Coach Chris Pfau announced Tuesday he is stepping down from his current position after five seasons of leading the Houston program. A national search for Houston's fifth coach in program history will begin immediately.
"We are appreciative of Chris for his service to our student-athletes and our department over the last five years," Houston Vice President for Athletics Hunter Yurachek said. "We will begin an immediate national search for a successor and will carefully evaluate and select a coach that best facilitates our mission of building champions for life."
The 2016 Houston season ended on Oct. 27 as the Cougars finished the year with a record of 6-7-3, including a 1-6-2 mark in The American Athletic Conference.
