HOUSTON â€" Head Coach Kaddie Platt and the Houston Volleyball program is excited to add two mid-year transfers to the 2016 roster.
Sophomores Brianna Lynch and Brianna Gardner join the Cougars this semester for workouts and will be eligible to play in the fall.

Lynch comes to Houston after spending two seasons playing for Wake Forest. During her sophomore season, she saw action in all 32 matches including 12 starts. She was one of the Demon Deacons primary outside hitters as she tallied 188 kills with 24 blocks and 30 digs. In her rookie season with Wake Forest (2014), Lynch played in 30 matches and totaled 137 kills with 30 blocks.
Prior to Wake Forest, Lynch attended Travis High School in Richmond, Texas. She was named to the All-District First team twice and earned the Outstanding Hitter Award.
"Brianna [Lynch] is an experienced and well-trained volleyball player from the Houston area. She has great athletic ability and relentless work ethic," Platt said. "She brings depth and versatility to our roster in the pin position. Her commitment to being her best is the character trait we look for in building this program."

Gardner comes to Houston after spending her first two seasons playing for the University of Montana and is a former teammate of Claire McCown. The 6-foot-3 middle blocker hails from Alta Loma, Calif.
"Gardner brings experience in the Middle. She is a big presence at the net both on offense and defense. Gardner is determined, super competitive and has played a lot of high-level volleyball," Platt said. "She brings experience and strong competitive nature that we were looking to add to the program. We are looking forward to working with her in the spring.
In her two seasons with the Grizzlies, Gardner saw action in 33 matches and recorded 155 kills. In 2015 alone, she posted 68 blocks, averaging 0.71 blocks per set. She led the Grizzlies with a .278 hitting average.
Prior to Montana, Gardner attended Alta Loma High School. She helped the Braves to the semifinal round of playoffs her senior season.
