New Lighting System Installed at Cougar Field

HOUSTON - Updates and facility improvements continue for Houston Athletics as the latest project featured a brand new lighting system by Musco Lighting at Cougar Field, home for Houston Baseball.
The newly installed SportsCluster Green lighting system will increase light level on the playing field with less fixtures than the previous system. With 168 1500-watt fixtures in place, energy consumption will be reduced due to the technology of the fixtures.
This advanced control system enables a consistent lighting level over years of use by increasing the brightness of light fixtures over time. This new system will also be an upgrade for NCAA Championship events and television broadcast standards held at Cougar Field.
"By installing this new system at Cougar Field, the lighting will be more energy efficient and provide a consistent look for years to come," T.J. Meagher, Associate AD for Capital and Special Projects said. "As we continue working to elevate our facilities, this progressive lighting system will position Cougar Field for continued opportunities to host NCAA Championship events and provide more exposure for the University."
The new lighting system is just one of many projects Houston Baseball has absorbed over the last few years. The lights were installed at the same time of the demolition of the previous video board. A brand new, state-of-the-art LED display system by Daktronics, and considered the largest on-campus baseball board in the nation, is expected to be installed soon and ready to the 2016 season.

LEVELS
PINCH HITTER
For a minimum monthly installment of $25 or a minimum one-time gift of $300, supporters can take advantage of the Pinch Hitter level, which will guarantee an invitation for two to exclusive Dugout Club events and Houston Baseball team apparel.
DIAMOND
For a minimum monthly installment of $100 or a minimum one-time gift of $1,000, supporters can take advantage of the Diamond level, which will guarantee batting practice passes for two to any home game, invitation for two to exclusive Dugout Club events and Houston Baseball apparel.
**Cougar Pride points will be applied accordingly.
