"We are excited to welcome Brendan to the Houston Cougar Athletics family," Yurachek said. "Brendan has proven he has a high level of skill in cultivating relationships and soliciting support for student-athletes. Our Cougar Pride members have given generously resulting in record donations year after year, but we still look to expand our base of donors as a part of our Drive for Five campaign and we look forward to Brendan helping to lead the charge."
While at ULM, Hoffer oversaw all external departments in addition to leading the ULM Athletic Foundation. Hoffer played a part in eight of the largest gift in ULM Athletics history and raised over $3.2 million in major gifts, growing the ULM donor base by over 50 percent. With Hoffer's leadership, the department raised $7.8 million over a 20-month period, totaling more donations than the previous six years combined.
"I cannot be more thrilled to join the team at Houston," said Hoffer. "I want to thank Hunter and Deputy AD Jeramiah Dickey for this incredible opportunity. With all the tremendous progress the department has made the past few years, it is an exciting time to join the Cougar Family!"
Hoffer also served as ULM's liaison to the Aspire Ticketing Group and Learfield Sports Properties as the Warhawks' ticket revenues increased by 44 percent in 2013-14, as compared to 2012-13. ULM's basketball ticket revenue increased by 169 percent since the 2012-13 season and sponsorship revenues increased by 31 percent.
Since he joined ULM in 2010 as the Director of Annual Giving, the ULM Athletics' annual fund increased by 304 percent with the sale of premium seating areas at football generating $178,000 annually.
Hoffer implemented the "#RISE of the Warhawks" fundraising and marketing campaign resulting in single-game and season attendance records for five sport programs. He oversaw facility enhancements totaling $1.5 million and coordinated a 23-percent growth in operating budget revenues from 2013-14 to 2014-15. He also served as a sport administrator for women's volleyball, sand volleyball and softball.
Prior to ULM, Hoffer spent two years at UTEP as an assistant director of development where he created the MAC Business Program and was responsible for the club level area of the Sun Bowl, revenue generation for "An Evening with Tony Dungy" while managing all aspects of the annual UTEP Athletics Hall of Fame.
Hoffer received his start at his alma mater, Washington State, serving first as an undergraduate assistant for two years before being named the Gray "W" Varsity Club coordinator in 2007.
