Chance Allen Eligible Immediately for Houston

HOUSTON - University of Houston receiver Chance Allen, a transfer from Oregon, has been granted a hardship waiver by the NCAA and will be eligible immediately this fall for the Cougars. A native of Missouri City, Texas, Allen will have two years of eligibility remaining at Houston after spending three seasons, including a redshirt year, with the Ducks.

A three-year letterwinner at Fort Bend Elkins High under head coach Dennis Brantley, Allen was 5A Texas Region III All-District selection as a senior, finishing his prep career with 126 receptions for 1,920 yards and 22 touchdowns. He led the Knights with 52 receptions for 892 yards and 10 touchdowns as a senior after catching 51 balls for 678 yards and eight TDs as a junior. He posted a total of 23 catches for 350 yards and four scores as a sophomore.
Allen was also a starting guard on the Knights' basketball team, ranking second on the squad in scoring as both a junior and a senior. He was ranked a three-star recruit by Rivals, Scout and ESPN.
Allen pulled in five receptions for 98 yards and one touchdown in nine games in 2013 and five games in Oregon's march to the National Championship game in 2014 after redshirting in 2012.
