Williams Takes Bronze at NCAA Championships

Eugene, Ore. - Junior hurdler Issac Williams finished third in the 110m hurdles on Friday, at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, earning All-America honors at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore.
Williams put the cap on an already stellar season when he turned in a 13.31 in the finals of the 110m hurdles at the Championships. Williams ran a wind-aided personal best and almost two-tenths of a second faster than his previous best of 13.56, which he ran to qualify fourth in the semifinals on Wednesday.
The former Willingboro High School standout won each of the 60m hurdle (indoor) and 110m hurdle (outdoor) American Athletic Conference Championships and was the only Cougar to compete in each of the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Championships.
Williams opened the 2014-15 slate by setting a new record in the indoor 60m hurdles after posting a 7.72 at the Houston Indoor Opener on Jan. 9 and was named American Athletic Conference Track Athlete of the week four times over the course of the indoor and outdoor seasons.
UP NEXT FOR HOUSTON
On Saturday, June 13, senior Brittany Kinney will wrap up Houston's season when she competes in the triple jump at 4 p.m. The senior, Karnes City, Texas native qualified for the NCAA Championships after posting a personal best 12.83m leap at the NCAA West Regional in Austin. Kinney will compete in flight two of the triple jump semifinals.
