4/7/2015 12:00:00 AM | Football

HOUSTON - Country musician and Houston native Rich O'Toole will take to the stage on the UH campus Saturday, April 18, as part of the 2015 Houston Athletics Spring Fling. O'Toole's concert will follow Houston Football's Red & White Game and take place just outside Cougar Field prior to Houston Baseball facing Cincinnati.
Thanks to Miller Lite, a proud partner of University of Houston Athletics, O'Toole will take to the stage at 5:15 p.m. to entertain Houston fans with his country-rock hits. The concert is one of seven items set to entertain UH fans on April 18 as along with the Red & White game (2 p.m. - TDECU Stadium) and Houston-Cincinnati Baseball (6:30 p.m. - Cougar Field), Houston Softball will take on UConn at 2 and 4 p.m. at Cougar Softball Stadium, the Houston Athletics Family Fun Zone outside the Cougar Field gates will be open from 4-6:30 p.m. and the Houston Football program will sign autographs from 5:30-6:15 p.m. outside the Cougar Field entrance.
Fans can pre-purchase a Spring Fling ticket for just $5 that will allow general admission access to the Red & White Game, Houston Baseball vs. Cincinnati and Houston Softball vs. UConn. Tickets on the day of event are $10. All baseball and softball season ticket holders receive entry to the event with their season tickets. Admission for UH students is free with a valid student ID.
Fans can pre-purchase tickets online at UHCougars.com/spring, by phone at 713-462-6647 or in person at the Houston Athletics Ticket Office in the Athletics/Alumni Center at TDECU Stadium. Tickets on the day of the event will be available for purchase at the Houston Athletics Ticket Office located at Gate 1 on the northeast corner of TDECU Stadium beginning at 1 p.m., at the entrance to Cougar Softball Stadium beginning at 1 p.m. and the entrance to Cougar Field at 5:30 p.m.
With 14 top ten hits on Texas radio, it's safe to say that Rich O'Toole knows where to call home. But like any multi-dimensional artist, especially those with one million plays on Spotify and over 1,000 full band shows performed throughout the US, including opening slots for Willie Nelson and the Josh Abbott Band, this Houston native is always looking to challenge himself and spread his wings just a little bit more.
Presently, Rich O'Toole has planted his country-rock sound in Los Angeles, where he penned his latest album, Jaded. Although the city may be an unexpected spot for a man with a killer collection of cowboy boots, it has quickly fallen under the spell of Rich's sweet Southern charm coupled with his high-energy, heartfelt rock shows.
