HOUSTON - Looking to wrap up its eight-game road tour, Houston Baseball will travel to Lafayette, La. to take on the Ragin' Cajuns of Louisiana-Lafayette Tuesday at 6 p.m.

QUICK HITS ON HOUSTON
Houston, under fifth-year head coach Todd Whitting, is coming off a tough 1-2 American Athletic Conference series loss at Memphis and a 2-2 week, which was highlighted by an 11-0 rout of Baylor last Tuesday. The Cougars will enter the week at 21-11 overall and 2-4 in league play.
OFFENSIVE OUTLOOK
Offensively, Houston is hitting .276 as a team and slugging .401, which is thanks in large part to its 23 homeruns hit on the year, ranking second among all American Athletic Conference programs. Along with its power, the Cougars hold a .376 on-base percentage and have drawn 181 free passes to its 197 strikeouts.
Leading the charge is junior Chris Iriart, who is hitting .376 and slugging a lofty .744. He paces the league with 10 homeruns - the most by a Cougar since Chris Wallace had 10 back in 2010. Iriart leads the team with 44 hits, 30 runs scored and is second on the team with 23 RBI.
Junior Josh Vidales follows with a .333 and is second on the team with 40 hits and 26 runs scored. Freshman Connor Wong is first on the team with 25 RBI and junior Kyle Survance is among the league leaders with 19 stolen bases.
ON THE BUMP
Houston's pitching staff owns a 3.54 ERA and in 287.0 innings pitched, the Cougars have fanned 216 and walked 78. Opponents are hitting .267 against the staff.
Six Cougars have double-digit wins, led by weekend starter Andrew Lantrip, who is 6-2 with a 2.53 ERA. The right-hander is coming off his second complete game this season in a 9.0-inning win over Memphis. Lantrip has fanned 39 in 53.1 innings.
Freshman Seth Romero is 3-3 with a 2.36 ERA in 11 appearances and two starts. Despite suffering the loss at Memphis, the southpaw fanned six and allowed just one earned run in 7.1 innings. He leads the pitching staff with 40 strikeouts in 34.1 innings this season.
Reliever Patrick Weigel ties Romero with a team-high 11 appearances and has made one start, holding a 2-0 record and a 3.82 ERA. He has 34 strikeouts in 33.1 innings this season.
Senior David Longville earned the win in last week's 11-0 shutout at Baylor, when he went 5.0 scoreless innings. He is 2-2 with a 4.12 ERA this season.
QUICK HITS ON LOUISIANA-LAFAYETTE
Louisiana-Lafayette is coming off a 2014 season that saw the Ragin' Cajuns win an NCAA-best 58 games and host a Regional and Super Regional, falling short to Ole Miss - for a chance to play in Omaha. ULL is 16-13 on the year thus far and is coming off a conference series loss at Georgia State last weekend.
OFFENSIVE OUTLOOK
Louisiana-Lafayette is hitting .275 as a team and slugging .398, highlighted by 51 doubles and 19 homeruns. Blake Trahan leads the offense with a .375 average, a team-high 43 hits, 24 runs scored and is 10-of-17 on the base paths. Nine players have double-digit RBI, led by Greg Davis' 20.
The team is fielding .963 with 44 errors and has drawn 116 walks for a .363 on-base percentage.
ON THE BUMP
The Ragin' Cajun pitching staff holds a 3.68 ERA and in 266.2 innings, the staff has struck out 219 and walked 87. For the starting pitchers, Gunner Leger leads the staff with a 3-2 record and a 3.42 ERA in eight starts. He also leads the club with 33 strikeouts in 47.1 innings. Teammate Evan Guillory is 3-0 with a 4.26 ERA in eight starts.
Out of the pen. ULL has relied heavily on the arm of Dylan Moore, who is 2-1 with a 1.90 ERA and four saves in a team-leading 13 appearances all in relief. Colton Lee follows him with an 0-2 record and a 1.95 ERA and three saves in 12 relief appearances.

Following the road midweek game at Louisiana-Lafayette, Houston will return to Houston and play the next four games inside the city, first by hosting Tulane in a three-game American Athletic Conference weekend series, set to begin at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Cougar Field. The series will continue at 6:30 p.m. Saturday and wrap with a 1 p.m. first pitch on Sunday.
After the weekend series with Tulane, the Cougars will head to Reckling Park to play Game 2 of the Silver Glove Series vs. Rice. First pitch: 6:30 p.m.

Houston Baseball will offer variable pricing on its single-game tickets and group rates.
For the first time ever, the pricing breakdown will be determined whether or not you purchase your single-game tickets online vs. at the gate the day of the game as well as whether the Cougars play on a weekday (Monday-Thursday) or weekend (Friday-Sunday).

As noted in the table, variable pricing occurs. For weekday (Tuesday nights) online purchases, fans can take in a game, ranging from $5-$7 depending on the choice of seating. If you choose to purchase the day of the game as a Weekday Walk-Up, you will pay roughly $2 more than the online price ($7-$9).
Weekend (Friday-Sunday) online pricing will range from $6-$8 per game, while Weekend Walk-Up pricing the day of the game will run a fan anywhere from $8-$10.
GROUP RATES
Group rates are also available (as noted in the table). Weekday (Tuesday) and Weekend (Friday-Sunday) pricing occurs. Groups of 10-24 are set at $4-$5 per person, while groups of 25+ are $3-$4 per person.
With single-game tickets available now, Houston Baseball still encourages supporters to become Season Ticket members and enjoy the attractive pricing and rewards that come with up-front purchasing for the entire 2015 season.
HOW TO PURCHASE
To purchase tickets in advance, fans must visit the Athletics Ticket Stadium Office located on the northeast corner of TDECU Stadium, just outside of Gate 1 off Cullen Boulevard. Parking is available in the TDECU Stadium parking garage with the first 30 minutes free of charge. Regular business hours are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m., to 5:30 p.m. or you can call 713-GO-COOGS.
