VOLUME XV - APRIL 16, 2015
ONE DOWN, TWO TO GO! |
The Cougars got the job done on Thursday as we fought hard to get a 4-0 win over UConn. The win has now earned us a place in the semifinals, where we will take on the Mustangs from SMU on Friday at 11 am.
We got off to a slow start as we were down on all three doubles courts, but we used one of our well-known traits to fight hard when the score is against us, and we came back to win the point. It was a tense atmosphere on court three, but the freshmen got the win to clinch the match, 7-5, to give us the 1-0 lead.
It was then time for singles, and Angela was first dominate and give us a 2-0 lead. Rocio shortly followed to make it 3-0, and Elena finished the job to make it a 4-0 win for the Cougars.
We need to come out with a little bit more fire tomorrow for the doubles, but it was a successful win as we continue our conference journey to get those rings! We will now have a repeat of last Wednesday's match against SMU at 11 am tomorrow.
Hope you are all watching and cheering along online!
Charlotte
