Houston Softball hosts Little League Day, March of Dimes Game

HOUSTON - Houston Softball is set to host Little League Softball Day at Cougar Softball Stadium on Sunday as the Cougars host UConn in the final American Athletic Conference home series.
Little League players, parents and coaches may attend the game at a reduced rate of $3. Those wishing to purchase early, visit UHCougars.com/Tickets and enter "LLSoftball" in the promo code.
After the game, the Little League players will be invited to interact with the Houston softball players. Little Leaguers can ask the college players questions directly and receive autographs.
In order to promote Little League Softball, as well as the college softball experience, Little League® Baseball and Softball has worked with various colleges and universities resulting in these institutions providing a "Little League Softball Day" at the collegiate level. A "Little League Softball Day" is designed to promote what participating in Little League Softball can potentially lead to. It is on this day that young athletes of all ages will get to experience the game of softball at its finest. They will have the complete game experience from the warm up to the game-ending play.
Houston Softball has tabbed Sunday's game as the March of Dimes game.
Cougar student-athletes will be sporting purple accessories in honor of the March of Dimes foundation while senior pitcher Summer Groholski and her family will throw out the first pitch.
ABOUT MARCH OF DIMES
The March of Dimes is a not-for-profit organization and is focused on improving the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality. The foundation is headquartered in White Plains, New York, and has 51 chapters across the U.S., including the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. The March of Dimes provides mothers, pregnant women and women of childbearing age with educational resources on baby health, pregnancy, preconception and new motherhood, as well as supplying information and support to families affected by prematurity, birth defects, or other infant health problems.

To purchase tickets in person, fans can visit the Athletics Ticket Office located on the northeast corner of TDECU Stadium, just outside of Gate 1 off Cullen Boulevard. Parking is available in the TDECU Stadium parking garage with the first 30 minutes free of charge. Regular business hours are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
All UH main campus students are admitted FREE to regular-season softball home games with a valid student ID.
SINGLE-GAME TICKETS ON SALE NOW
Fans can purchase general admission single-game tickets beginning as low as $5 for youth and $8 for adults through UHCougars.com or by contacting the Houston Athletics Ticket Office at 713-GO-COOGS (462-6647).
While single-game tickets are available, fans are encouraged to save and purchase 2015 season tickets. General admission season tickets are just $75 for 28 home games ($2.68 per ticket).
